(3/11/2011)

The anniversary of www.balidiscovery.com's Bali Update on March 2, 2011 [Bali Update Turns 13!] brought cakes, telephones calls and messages of congratulations to our office in Bali.

∑ Marian Hinchliffe, Director of Public Relations and Marketing at the AYANA Resort & Spa Bali wrote:

"Dear Jack: I understand it's Bali Update's 13 year anniversary today? What a milestone! Great effort to put out such a polished, well-researched and informative publication for 13 years, to a readership of well travelled, influential people. Wishing you all the best for the future and look forward to continuing to work with you."

∑Also from the AYANA, Charles de Foucault, General Manager of the Resort added:

"Happy 13th year anniversary! I always look forward to read "Bali Update" in or out of Bali . . .Congratulations Jack"

∑ Steve Bradley wrote:

"Congratulations and Best Wishes to all involved with the compiling and publication of Bali Update. Having been a reader and supporter for most of those years, I wish you well and trust you keep up the good work for many years to come."

∑ Philip Townsend in Bali wrote the following:

"Congratulations on becoming a teenager and please keep up the good work. So far as I am aware, you have never missed a single Monday publication date since inception, which is truly commendable."

"I believe that Bali Update provides a very useful service to the many folks around the world who have an interest in Bali but would not otherwise have access to local media coverage. The Editorials, which as you note are always clearly identified as such, are always thought provoking and always intended in the best interests of Bali and the Balinese people. It's a shame that these opinions often fall upon deaf ears, for the reasons with which we who are long-term residents are only too familiar, but there are otherwise few widely accessible voices of reason and common sense."

∑ Margaret contributed:

"Congratulations to Bali Update on your 13th birthday. I look forward to the beginning of each week to receive my Bali Update and the weekly news to keep us in touch with what is happening in Bali. Can't wait for July when we return to beautiful Bali again."

∑ Mark Edleson the CEO of Alila Hotels & Resorts wrote to say:

"Well done, Jack. Many thanks for continuing to provide a well-rounded source of news to those interested in the paradise isle. Keep it up for many more years!"

∑ Colleen Blofield wrote:

"May I congratulate a very informative, and well written Newsletter a happy 13th Birthday. I look forward to receiving this every Monday in my inbox as it keeps me informed, about my beloved Bali. The news it brings, sometimes makes me laugh out loud, sometimes makes me want to cry, and sometimes makes me really mad, but always, keeps me updated, in a professional way. I wish the Bali Update, and all it's Staff many more great years ahead. Love and Blessings, Colleen'
