Bali Shakes from 6.2 Earthquake

Almost 12 hours before the massive 8.9 earthquake that shook Japan on Friday, March 11, 2011, Bali also experienced one of the strongest and closes earthquakes in recent times.
A strong earthquake measuring 6.2 magnitude struck off the northeast coast of Bali in the Bali Sea.
The epicenter was 261 km northeast of Bali’s capital of Denpasar at a depth of 510 km.
No damage or injuries were reported, but some residents across the island did experience a rolling and shaking motion at 1:08 am that roused them from their beds when the event occurred.
No tsunami was generated by the Bali earthquake.
