Garuda Indonesia took delivery on a new Airbus A330-200 from the manufacturer's factory in Toulouse, France on April 15, 2011.
The new wide-bodied aircraft is part of a planned addition of 11 new aircraft to be added to the Garuda armada in 2011, joining the 87 aircraft already operated by the national carrier.
The Airbus A330-200 will be used by Garuda on its international route network.
9 of the 11 new aircraft to come on line in 2011 will be Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft, supplemented by two Airbus 330-220. The Boeing planes will be delivered throughout the year with the second Airbus to be delivered in October of this year.
Garuda currently operates 19 international and 31 domestic routes.
