After an absence of many years, the advance contingent rally of the Fremantle to Bali Yacht Race will depart the Fremantle Sailing Club Western Australia on Saturday, April 23, 2011 between 11:00 and 11:30 am aiming to cross the starting line at 12:00 noon.
Entertaining the many hundreds of spectators expected to come see the rally fleet depart on April 23rd will be a morning bazaar that starts at 9:00 am on April 23 featuring musical entertainment and Balinese-inspired cuisine.
Three days later, on April 26th, the yachts vying for honors in the rigorous Fremantle to Bali Yacht race will cross the starting line off North Mile at midday and expected to arrive in Bali approximately one week later, depending on weather and sea conditions.
The best time in the Fremantle to Bali race was set by the event's patron Rolly Tasker who sailed his yacht Siska over the distance in six days, 15 hours and 39 minutes.
A celebration and awards ceremony hosted by Garuda Indonesia is set for the Aerowisata Sanur Beach Hotel on May 10, 2011.
