As reported by balidiscovery.com a 62-year-old British woman [See: Rubbing the Boss the Wrong Way] was apprehended for immigration violations for which she faced a maximum possible penalty of five years in prison.
On Tuesday, April 26, 2011, the Denpasar found the British national, Marian Noel Hjelm, guilty of working outside the limits of her sponsored work permit.
While prosecutors sought a prison term of 5 months for the woman, the judge meted out the more lenient sentence of 3 months less time served.
Hjelm was employed as a therapist at PT Global Sehat Indonesia in the Kuta Galleria, but was discovered to be offering homeopathic therapeutic sessions at her residence in Seminyak at rates lower than those available at her official place of employment.
