Narelle Grudgfield of MTA Travel in Queensland has organized an exciting 7 night tour program focusing on Bali handicrafts and textiles commencing in Bali on September 10, 2011.
Using two charming boutique hotels in Sanur and Ubud as their base, the group will visit textile centers and workshops in Sanur, Sidemam, Ubud, Gelgel and Teganan learning about the textile traditions of batik, ikat, endek, songket and Bali’s unique double-ikat gerigseng style. The trip also includes visits to jewelry making centers and a half-day cookery course on Balinese food.
The schedule, personally escorted by Narelle Grudgefield, also provides ample time for independent exploration, spa visits or simple idleness at the two comfortable island retreats selected for use during this one-week exploration of Balinese culture through the acquisition of an understanding of the island's handicrafts, textiles and cuisine.
