The Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Kofi Annan enjoyed a brief stay at The Oberoi, Bali on May 18, 2002, on his way to participate in nationhood celebrations in Dili, East Timor.
Staying at The Oberoi, Bali's Royal Villa Hibiscus, the Secretary General was accompanied by Mrs.
Annan.
During their brief stopover, the Annan's and a delegation from the U.N. enjoyed a traditional Indonesian Rijstaffel
dinner at their Villa.
Commenting on his visit to Bali, Mr. Annan said upon leaving the resort, "We have been very comfortable in this
paradise."
