On Friday, June 17, 2011, the Westin Resort Bali hosted a gala evening for the travel industry and selected guests to launch their newly transformed guestrooms and suites.
The culmination of a 12-month long project costing US$13 million, the resort's 334 rooms now offer ergonomically-designed fixtures and furnishings; a new generation of Heavenly® Beds; rooms equipped with audio-visual entertainment ports and IPod connectivity; extended bathrooms that include both a standing shower and a separate bathtub; and dual-wardrobe area.
Aimed at providing excellent service to the hotel’s three main markets, the refurbishment addresses:
- Conference delegates – with latest AV entertainment ports, iPod connectivity, and high-speed internet connection.
- Leisure guests – providing them with extra space, ergonomic setup of the room, and a trendy and functional bathroom
- Family guests - complete with separate play area, dining and utility room, and separate bedrooms for parents and children.
Guests attending the re-launch party were welcomed in the hotel’s lobby where their pictures were taken while sitting on the
Westin’s hallmark
Heavenly Bed.
Selected guests from the travel industry were hosted by the hotel for an overnight at the Resort, allowing them to experience first-hand the refurbished accommodation
.
Outstanding food and beverage and generous drinks were served around the resort’s pool where a stage was erected for a show band's performance, dances from Bali’s renowned Nyoman Sura and a fashion show by Camilla Franks.
The personable resort general manager, Bipan Kapur, took to the stage to thank guests for their support and introduce the many physical changes and personnel appointments that have taken place at the hotel over the past year.
Door prizes including free stays at affiliate hotels around the region were handed out together with an auction of hotel stays and a
Heavenly Bed ® in support of UNICEF.
