Bali International YoYo Open Held in Bali.
(7/11/2011)
Hiroyuki Suzuki, an acknowledged maestro of the YoYo, visited Bali July 8-9, 2011 to participate in the Bali International YoYo Open Tournament.
The 2nd Bali International YoYo Open (BIYO) saw two days of intense competition on July 8-9, followed by a YoYo tour of the island where masters of the toy were photographed performing their magic against the background of some of Bali’s most iconic destinations.
Competition took place in 5 divisions, with special categories, including an International YoYo Open division.
Hiroyuki Suzuki, representing Japan in a tournament that hosted competitors from six countries who traveled to Bali for the tournament, is the holder of two YoYo Guinness Book of World Records. Hiroyuki told Kompas.com, “I hold two world records, I have done the ‘Eli Hop Trick’ 72 time in only 30 seconds and knock off a coin using my YoYo placed behind the ears of 15 different people in only 1 minute and 12 seconds.”
Hiroyuki’s comments were made at a tournament press conference that saw the young Japanese demonstrate his YoYo skills to delight and amazement of the local press.
To give Balidiscovery.com readers a taste of Hiroyuki’s YoYo skills we’ve embedded a brief YouTube Video showing the talented young Japanese YoYo champ performing mind-boggling tricks:
BIYO also saw other international YoYo stars in attendance in Bali, including Raymond Tyan and Yew Mun from Malaysia, and Iskandar Shah from Singapore.
