Imaji, Memori, Refleksi (Image, Memory, Reflection) an exhibition by Uuk Paramahita and Ari Winata runs at Danes Art Veranda in Denpasar November 9-16, 2011.
The exhibition will highlight these two artists use of visual narrative in their compositions.
In keeping with the narrative tradition, each composition is intended to narrate an episode or personal experience taken from the artist's own life. Ari's work are dominated by lines based on the tattoo or
parba (a type of altar) and cremation towers used in Balinese Hindu cremation ceremony.
Uuk Paramahita’s works show small figures which are arranged in vertical rows. As seen from his compositions, Uuk’s works is inspired by Indonesian traditional puppets.
Cultural experience binds the workmanship of both artists exhibiting their work in this joint show. Each has an individual take on culture represented in their individual style. Uuk Paramahita presents figurative works dominated by the composition of small objects with acrylic on canvas, while Ari Winata presents realistic representations of figure.
“Imaji, Memori, Refleksi” - a visual art exhibition will be opens on November 9, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at
Danes Art Veranda on Jalan Hayum Wuruk No. 159 in Denpasar.
The exhibition runs until November 16, 2011.
As part of the exhibition, a drawing and sketch workshop will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Danes Art Veranda.
