On August 01, 2002, Bali's Sanglah General Hospital (RSUP Sanglah) commenced formal operation of a new state-of-the-art CT-Scan machine (Computed Tomographic Imaging). Imported from Japan at a cost of Rp. 5 billion (approximately US$510,000), the unit is being operated on a joint-venture basis with a local company, P.T. Menjangan.
The CT-Scan, able to handle 8 patients every day, will be available to all doctors practicing at the island's main hospital and is expected to substantially enhance the diagnostic capabilities of local physicians.
