The Indonesian Lippo Group continues to expand in Indonesia. After opening the international Siloam Hospital in Bali, they are now in the process of opening three malls on the island.
The CEO of Lippo Malls opened one of these malls on Friday, November 16, 2012, Michael Riady, who officiated at the Lippo Sunset Mall on Jalan Sunset in Kuta.
Riady, quoted by Beritabali.com, said Bali as one of the largest cities (sic) in Indonesia and known internationally, has a strong potential for mall investment.
Because of this, his Group has linked the two important services to the public: hospitals and shipping malls.
“Those who visit a hospital can spend waiting time to shop for their daily needs, thus the presence of malls here is to support the daily activities of the public,” explained Riady,
Lippo is targeting middle-class Indonesians and visiting tourists to Bali with their investments in the island.
“We are optimist that the malls in Bali will support the economic activities of Bali, especially in the tourism sector,” added Riady who was accompanied by the COO of Lippo Mall, Eddy Mumin.
Lippo will soon open two more malls in the Kuta area of Bali.
Riady hinted that the Indonesian group would soon expand into new supporting areas of tourism. “Now, we are in the midst of construction, next year we’ll tell you more,” he said.
