Marketing Blueprint Workshop September 19

Ministry of Culture and Tourism Convenes Planning Meeting in Bali.

The Department of Culture and Tourism is in the process of preparing a blueprint for the Marketing of Indonesian Tourism, a document intended to eventually provide guidelines on policies, strategies and specific marketing programs covering the period 2003 through 2008.

In order to maximize input from the private tourism sector, the team preparing the final draft of the blueprint will be holding a one day workshop in Bali on Thursday, September 19, 2002, at the Bali Gardenia Resort in Taman Mumbul.


Scheduled to appear as speakers at the workshop are Bali's Chief of Tourism, Dr. I. Gede Pitana on "The Importance of a National Tourism Promotion Policy and its Implications for Bali;" Dr. Rhenald Kasali with the topic "Marketing Issues and the Development of Tourism in Indonesia;" Dr. I Made Suradnya of Bali's Tourism School addressing "The Positioning of the National Tourism Product and its Provincial Implications"; Mr. A.A. Gede Rai, MBA speaking on "Strategic marketing for Indonesian Tourism;" and Mr. Feisol Hasyim, the Chairman of the Association of Southeast Asian Travel Associations (ASEANTA) on "Integrated Tourism Marketing Program and Strategy in the Era of Crisis."


The Afternoon sessions will feature three participatory workshops:

Workshop I: Marketing Strategies and its Implication on Product Development

Workshop II: Marketing Image and Regional Tourism.

Workshop III:Cooperation Between the Center and the Regions in Tourism Marketing.
