The 63-room Grand Bali Hotel located at Nusa Dua suffered major damage from a fire that struck mid-day on Saturday, March 23, 2013.
The fire, thought to have been started by a short-circuit, quickly consumed the thatched roof of the hotel and spread to all areas of the hotel, causing guests and staff to flee the property, abandoning their personal belongings in the process.
According to the Bali Post, eyewitnesses say the fire began at 12:15 pm.
Five fire units responded to the location in an attempt to control the fire that has largely destroyed the hotel.
