Four Chefs. One Night. A Feast Like No Other. Mozaic Beach Club in Seminyak, Wednesday, May 22, 2013


Put four highly individualistic men; each expert in the use of sharp instruments and the calculated application of fire; and then stand back. The four men in question, representing the upper echelon of Bali’s pantheon of kitchen demigods, are preparing to do friendly battle on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, combining decades of hard-won culinary expertise to create course-after-course of dining perfection.

In a profession where everyone wears white hats, there are no “bad guys” in the coming kitchen showdown hosted at the Mozaic Beach Club in Batu Belig.

The evening commences with a red carpet arrival that includes sunset cocktails and canapés by the sea, before adjourning to a decadent, four-course feast - the respective contributions of the four participating chefs.

The evening of four chef will feature:

  • Chris Salans – founder of Mozaic Restaurant Gastronomique in Ubud, food educator and cookery book author.
  • Phil Davenport - chief of the kitchen at Bali’s at iconic Ku De Ta.
  • Nicolas ‘Doudou’ Tourneville - maestro of French-Mediterranean fare at the much-celebrated Metis. 
  • Will Meyrick – a self-proclaimed champion of street food, best known for his work at the helm of Sarong.
All four men share a passion for not just Bali, but also for the rich layered culture of Indonesia. They revel in the rich array of local spices and exotic ingredients produce by nature in Indonesia. All with long periods of Indonesian experience, they also enthuse equally about the coming generation of your Indonesian culinary artists that continue to pass through their kitchens.

On the 22nd May 2013 this vision will be brought to life in a special night of feasting, fun and friends that you won’t want to miss.

As an innovative step, a roving camera will be installed in the kitchen to capture candid behind-the-scenes action as each of the four teams bring their dishes to life. Later, the chefs will make at-table appearances to share moments and anecdotes with the diners.
