An Evening of Music in Sanur on Monday, August 26, 2013 to Help John Fawcett Foundation Prevent Blindness

The talented singing duo of Antonio and Kate Villano are returning to Bali for a special one-night performance Monday, August 26, 2013, on behalf of the John Fawcett Foundation and its mission of returning the gift of sight to Indonesians.
Antonio Villano 

Born in Roccapiemonte in the Campania region of southwest Italy, Antonio Villano migrated with his family to Australia at the age of 9. Teaching himself the guitar and how sing by listening to a record collection, by the age of 14 Antonio had formed his first gospel band together with two friends and two brothers.
In his 20s, Antonio's first brush with stardom a fluke. Sean Timms from Timms Tunes needed a singer able to duplicate 30 seconds of Puccini's Nessum Dorma in the style of Luciano Pavorotti for a television commercial.  Antonio gave it a try, leaving Timms was so impressed that he ended up producing the entire song into a commercial recording for Antonio, igniting a love for the operatic repertoire along the way.
Later, an appearance on ABC Australia led to engagements across Australia and overseas.
A musical and familial partnership was eventually formed between Antonio and Kate Lara who the singing duo “Vogue” that travelled to international engagements where they performed a wide range of musical styles from classical, ballad, jazz, blues, Motown, rock'n'roll and more.
As part of their traveling musical repetroire, thematic programs have been developed by Antonio and Kate that include:
  • Tribute to the Tenors - A classical tribute to the great tenors, both past and present.
  • Tribute to the Greats - A musical live performance of the greatest voices of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's.
  • The Neil Diamond Experience - A tribute to the great Neil Diamond. 
  • Shirazzamattaz - A classy singing and dance performance including hits from cabaret, burlesque and All that Jazz.
 One Night Only in Bali

The one-night-only Bali performance by Antonio and Kate Villano will held at the Kejora Suites in Sanur on Monday, August 26, 2013, from 7:00-11:00 pm.
Antonio and Kate will present a mixture of modern song, musical theatre hits and famous operatic arias. A privileged and limited-number audience will enjoy hearing selections drawn from the songbooks of classical operatic idols such as Pavarotti, Lanza, Caruso and Boccelli. Villano will also celebrates the tenors of today with a selection of songs such as  “The Prayer” and “You Raised Me Up” from artists such as Josh Groban, Il Divo and Patrizio.
Villano will also showcase a selection of the most requested musical theatre pieces from Phantom Of The Opera, Les Misérables, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar and Requiem featuring vocals teaming and breathtaking harmonies from wife and fellow performer, New Zealand songstress Kate Lara.
Antonio said: “I have long admired the songs of both modern and classical performers so I am very excited to present this dynamic evening of music. We promise something special for everyone and a night to remember!” 
As a preface to a joyous night of musical fundraising, the John Fawcett Foundation will conduct a mass eye-screen at the nearby Sanur Banjar for some 500 people. Afterward, the Foundation’s mobile eye clinic will be repositioned to the Kejora Suite, serving as a background for the night’s performance.
Limited seating is available at Rp. 499,000 (US$49.90) per person, which-covers free flow drinks and food, a silent auction and door prizes.
