A French national, David Alexander Guigiles, has been apprehended by customs officials at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport for concealing a small bag of marijuana on his person.
Beritabali.com quotes the head of the airport’s customs office, Made Wijaya, who said 0.79 grams of cannabis, were found concealed near the man’s derrière.
Guigiles, who was born in Gassin, France, is 30 years of age and lists his occupation as a member of a hotel marketing team. He arrived in Bali on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, on board Air Asia QZ8386 from Kuala Lumpur, shortly after midnight.

The marijuana had a street value of Rp. 474,000 (US$47).
Guigiles is now subject to being charged with narcotic violation that carries a possible punishment of 5 years in prison and a fine of between Rp. 1 billion (US$100,000) to Rp. 10 billion (US$1 million).
