Citilink CEO Denies Any Plans to Acquire Tiger Air Mandala

(5/2/2014) The president and CEO of Citilink Indonesia Arif Wibowo has denied that his Airlines  is planning to acquire Tiger Air Mandala.

Arif Wibowo told Metrobali.com that such a plan would be very complex to undertake.

“Who says we want to take over Tiger Mandala? The takeover process is very complex. News reports that say Citilink will acquire Tiger Air Mandala appear to be the imaginings of some journalists,” said Wibowo in a press announcement on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.

The same press release clarified and denied press reports from various sources suggesting the low-cost airline Garuda subsidiary of Citilink was poised to acquire Tiger Air Mandala.

From bases in Jakarta and Surabaya, Citilink operates 140 daily flights to Batam, Banjarmasin, Denpasar, Balikpapan, Yogyakarta, Medan, Palembang, Padang, Ujung Pandang, Pekanbaru, Lombok, Bengkulu, Jambi, Semarang, Malang, Kupang, Pangkal Pinang, Tanjung Pandan and Bandung.
