Indonesian Women Sentenced to 12 Years Prison for Trying to Smuggle Drugs into Bali

(6/8/2014) Radar Bali reports that an Indonesian female expatriate worker, Ihah Solihah Uju (39), has been sentenced to 12 year in prison for attempting to smuggle 3.2 kilograms of methamphetamines through Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport on December 8, 2013.

The sentence, less than the 17 years sought by state prosecutors, was accepted without further appeal by the woman.

In addition to 12 years imprisonment, Ihah Solihah Uju must pay a fine of Rp. 1.3 billion (US$114,000) or spend another 2 months in prison.
