Keeping an Eye on the Situation

Police Install CCTV Surveillance System at Sea Ports and Airports over Lebaran Holidays in Bali

(7/18/2014) The Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC) for the Bali Provincial Police Command will be monitoring movement at all gateways to the Island using CCTV monitors (closed circuit TV) to prevent terrorism and other threats to public order.

Metrobali.com quoted the director of traffic for the Bali Police, Police Commissioner I Wayan Sunartha, who on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, explained how the CCTV system would be connected to the RTMC at the Denpasar police headquarters.

Sunartha confirmed that  under video surveillance are the port of Padang Bai in East Bali, the port of Gilimanuk in West Bali, the Port of Benoa in the Island’s south and the Ngurah Rai International Airport.

The video monitoring of the gateways will be supplemented by a heavy police presence always in place during peak travel periods.
