Three Times Good? Seeking Obama

U.S. President Barack Obama Announced Third Planned Visit to Bali and Indonesia.

(10/16/2010)  Jakarta Globe reports that once again, preparations have commenced for a visit to Bali by U.S. President Barack Obama.

Quoting the Indonesian Ambassador to Washington, D.C., Dino Pati Djalal, who said: "We are making preparations. President Barack Obama will visit Indonesia as part of a trip to APEC summit in Seoul."

The exact date of the trip has yet to confirmed but is expected to take place in early November. The Indonesian Ambassador said Obama will visit Bali for two days and one night during which U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive partnership championed by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be discussed. "The concept of the partnership was further discussed between US State Secretary Clinton and Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa when they met in Washington in September. The cooperation will cover security, politics, economy, development, culture, education as well as science and technology," explained Ambassador Djalil.

The U.S. President has twice confirmed and cancelled a plan visit to Indonesia due to pressing domestic demands in the U.S.. The two previously cancelled visits were already well advanced when they were called off and included extensive preparations, including the deployment of equipment and personnel in Bali.
