Bali Expecting a Very Busy Christmas and New Years

Bali's Starred Hotels Predicting 90% + Occupancy Over Christmas and New Years 2010-2011.

(12/18/2010) Beritabali.com reports that the Bali Tourism Office is saying that, on the average, 80% of all available hotel rooms in Bali have been booked for the coming Christmas and New Years period.

Data from the Bali Tourism Office puts the average occupancy at all Bali hotels between December 20, 2010 until January 2011 at 90%. In many of the more popular areas of Bali - such as Sanur, Nusa Dua, Kuta and Ubud - hotels are already reporting they are fully booked over the 2010-2011 Christmas and New Years period.

The head of the Bali Tourism Office (Kadiparda), Ida Bagus Subhisku, told the press on Friday, December 17, 2010, that generally Bali remains the preferred choice for year-end holidays.

As a popular destination, according to Subhisku, Bali continues to see many of the more remote areas of the island suffering from a lack of their "fare share" of tourism visitors. To address this imbalance, he says that the regents and municipal mayors of Bali must begin to develop "stand alone" tourism products in order to attract tourism visitors to their areas. He also admitted that the more remote sections of Bali still suffer from the distance of their location from the main tourist areas and the lack of supporting infrastructure demanded by tourism visitors.
