Bali Hotel Association Introduces Revolutionary Online Language Learning Program to Improve Guest Services

(5/11/2013) The Bali Hotels Association (BHA), a professional grouping of star-rated hotels in Bali representing more than 100 hotels containing more than 15,000 hotel room and employing some 30,000 employees, have engaged the services of Qooco © - a mobile-learning technology company to provide pioneering on-line language learning programs for hotel workers.

Initially, Qooco’s © online language program will be focused on improving the English and Mandarin language skills of hotel employees.

The training move is being undertaken by participating BHA members due to the rapid growth in Chinese arrivals to Bali. In 2010, Chinese tourist coming from the People’s Republic of China represented the second largest group of foreign visitors to the Island after Australia.

An online learning system easy accessible to all hotel staff, the Qooco © systems presents simulations of real life scenarios encountered by service staff allowing users to learn the vocabulary and dialogue necessary to handle specific situations in areas of food and beverage, kitchen, security, spa, housekeeping and front desk services.

Qooco’s state-of-the-art speech and analytics technologies instantly analyses and graphically illustrates the accuracy of tone and pronunciation, allowing for immediate feedback and live tuition. All lessons, conducted entirely online, are scored and tracked using data so that progress can be monitored over time – a particularly useful tool for management to identify problem areas and easily map the results of the program.
