Bali Tour Agents Team Up to Secure Australian Market

(5/12/2013) The Bali Chapter of Association of Indonesian Tour and Travel Agents – (ASITA-Bali) has formed a committee focused on the Australian market.

The chairman of ASITA-Bali, Ketut Ardana, said that the formation of the Australian Marketing Committee is targeted to help Bali maintain its current market share and potentially increase the number of Australians coming to the Island.

Saying many Australians view Bali as “their second home,” Ardana said Bali benefits from its close proximity to Australia and the value-for-money of a Balinese holiday.

Australians represent the largest inbound market of foreign tourists to Bali. While growth numbers of tourists from Australia are beginning to slow, ASITA-Bali views such fluctuations as normal with Bali still very strong as a location for repeat visitors from Australia. In ASITA's View, armed with a strong currency, it is only normal that Australians will use the opportunity to travel further afield on their holidays.

At the same time, ASITA-Bali accepts that it must become more creative in managing the Australian market by creating travel packages aimed specifically at the Australians.
