Coming Soon: The Chedi Sakala

GHM Preparing to Open its Largest Property to Date on Tanjung Benoa, Bali in late 2013

(7/13/2013) GHM (General Hotel Management) will open its most expansive luxury resort to date in late 2013 with the opening of the Chedi Sakala in Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua, Bali.

Sitting on a 2.4-hectare seaside plot near the popular Nusa Dua Complex, the Chedi Sakala will have 247 suites and 14 private one and two-bedroom pool villas, two swimming pools, a spa, health club, kids’ club and lagoon bar.

The 261-key property will be the third GHM property to debut in Bali.

The new property will feature four separate dining areas, all adjacent to Sakala Bali, a 150-seat fine dining restaurant already in operation.

Appointed as general manager of the new resort is Evan Pavlakis, an experienced Australian hotelier who has been lured out of semi-retirement to take on the new project.

According to GHM President Hans R. Jenni, “I have worked with Evan for many years and I am confident that his experience, knowledge and global network of contacts will be invaluable as he spearheads this landmark project.” Pavlakis brings more than four decades of international experience in the hospitality sector to his new post in Bali, including 26 years in general manager and vice-president positions with leading five-star hotel groups in locations such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and China.

“I’ve managed hotels in some of the most talked-about corners of the globe; but there is an untouched beauty about this stretch of shore that is impossible to resist,” said Pavlakis. “Benoa is Bali at its best.”

When open, The Chedi Sakala will join two existing Bali GHM properties: The Legian Bali in Seminyak and the Chedi Club Tanah Gajah in Ubud. GHM is also in the process of preparing the opening of the Chedi Nusa Penida in Crystal Bay, a 100-villa resort slated for opening in 2015.
