A Combined Police and Military Special Force (Satgas Pengamanan APEC) put in place to safeguard the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference (APEC) in Bali performed a terrorist simulation at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport on Thursday, October 3, 2013.

As reported by Kompas.com, the simulation drill involved four F-16 jets from the Indonesian Air Force and hundreds of personnel from joint military response team for APEC

The simulation drill began with the arrival of an unauthorized aircraft penetrating the air zone surroundings Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport. Identified as a threat, four F-16 armed fighter jets were dispatched to escort the suspicious aircraft, forcing it to land at the Bali airport.

Once escorted under arms to Bali’s airport, the suspicious airplane was surrounded by Special Forces from Satgas Pengamanan APEC. As the simulation continued, the highly armed and specially-trained forces rushed the aircraft taking four “terrorists” into custody.

After being subdued, the four “terrorists” were then secured in a remote post and interrogated.

The entire exercise, from beginning to its successful end, took only 30 minutes.
