Famous is as Famous Does. Keeping Up with the Kardashians Pays a Call on Bali.

Vogue.com and international social media is awash with news of how Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim Kardashian spent their holiday in Bali.

Pioneers in the self-absorbed media phenomena of people who live their lives “online” and on TV, The Kardashian’s “big break” began with a “leaked” salacious sex tape in 2004 that morphed its way into the highly successful E! Reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

The series debut took place in October 2007 and is now one of the longest-running reality television series in the USA.  The series 15th season premiered in August of 2018.

Behaving both badly and outrageously, Keeping Up with the Kardashians tracks the lives of Kortney, Kim and Khloe together with half-sisters - Kendal and Kylie Jenner,  reoccurring appearances by brother Rob Kardashian, and the girls’ parents Kris and Catilyn Jeener (prior to sexual reassignment, better known as Olympian Bruce Jenner). Current and former husbands, paramours, and friends of the Kardashian sisters. In Bali, this reportedly included Kortney’s  beau and father to her three children, Scott Disick.  The casting, like the family, is complicated and far-reaching. Not unexpectedly, critics have often taken issue with the “famous for being famous” pretext of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and their pursuit of “guilty pursuits.”

Poor reviews and poor taste aside, the show enjoys high ratings and has made the Kardashians fabulously wealthy.

True to character and according to script, the Kardashian demand and get the limelight wherever they go. In Bali, this included filing regular Instagrams postings throughout their stay that included Kim modeling a pink bikini on a beachside tree swing, dips in an infinity pool overlooking the Indian Ocean, yacht tours, and a birthday party for Penelope Kardashian. "Quite" family moments caught by a plethora of camera and sound crews will be coming to a future episode of the Kardashian family business.

In one Instagram posing, Kourtney Kardashian posted the words:  “Thank you Bali for the happiness and peace.” The eldest Kardashian also shared a picture of herself posing in a tropical head-to-toe yellow outfit. The photographer? Her son, Mason.

Seeking, in alternative moves, publicity and privacy, balidiscovery.com followed radar flight paths and Internet postings to learn the groupstayed well out of town at the Soori Resort in Tabanan Regency West Bali. Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Scott Disick were on the Island with the group’s children. They posted pictures photos taken on on an island near Lombok, a private yacht, and at a Balinese temple, as well as visiting a nearby village in Tabanan.

At least two separate helicopters were used to ferry the celebrities – one owned by Mason Adventure. Chatter on social media suggests the group visited Nigel Mason’s Elephant Park and Chocolate Factory in Ubud. However, our calls to Nigel to confirm details of the visit evoked a stern “no comment” – a response we took as more confirmatory than an outright denial that the Kardashians were on site. Some shots on the Internet include the very recognizable Nigel in the picture frame.

Visits with Nigel and Yannie Masson to their many natural attractions by visiting global glitterati have become de riguer in Bali. In recent weeks, visitors seen enjoying Mason's parks, white water rafting experience, ATV trips, and other excurions have included Jean-Claude Van Damme, DJ Tiesto, and Prince Albert of Monacco.
