Bali cooking is a creative process that is simple and a lot of fun. In Anika Bali Cooking Class, you will learn the techniques and become familiar with the fresh herbs, spices, and other ingredients that make Balinese food delightfully tasty as well as nutritious and cleansing. Over the day we will explore different ways to blend and balance the varied flavors to create a stimulating array of unique tastes.
The course instructors guides you through Kuta's traditional Market for some pre-course shopping, to explain the use of traditional herbs, spices and provide insights on local culture. Breakfast will be served after the market visit. Before the practical cooking session, the instructor explains the use of traditional ingredients, cooking techniques and Indonesian cooking utensils. Teachers will help prepare a complete menu based on Balinese recipes - nine main dishes and 1 dessert, during an 8-hours hands-on cooking class conducted in English. A lunch of Indonesian foods accompanied by the traditional drinks of hibiscus tea and Balinese rice wine. Balinese Cooking is a creative process that is simple and a lot of fun. Over the course of day you'll explore different ways to blend and balance the varied flavours to create a stimulating array of unique tastes. Through demonstration and hands-on experience, you'll prepare a breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dine together with fellow students on an assortment of exquisite dishes, from satay and grilled fish and curries to black rice pudding dessert.
