11.4 million Passengers Used Bali’s Airport in the first half of 2025

Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport recorded serving 11.42 million passengers and 68,800 aircraft movements during the first half of 2025. These totals represented a 1 percent increase when compared to the same six months in 2024.

The General Manager of the Bali International Airport, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, reported the first semester totals on Friday, 11 July 2025. Shahab credited the Airport’s high level of services and efficiency for attracting higher levels of visitors.

“We continue to innovate by optimizing infrastructure, traffic management systems (MOT), and utilizing technology such as safe check-in, check-in counters, and immigration auto gates to make passenger journeys faster and more efficient,” he said.

In terms of flight routes, Jakarta remains the most popular domestic destination, with 1.9 million passengers, or around 47 percent of total domestic passengers passing through the Island’s Airport. Surabaya follows with 644,000 passengers, and Labuan Bajo with 247,000 passengers.

For international routes, Singapore is the most popular destination, with 1.3 million departing passengers, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 841,000 and Melbourne with 547,000.

In addition to recording passenger growth, Ngurah Rai Airport has also successfully won several prestigious international awards. Bali’s Airport was named the 6th “Best Regional Airport in Asia” by the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2025 and the “Best Airport 15–20 Million Passengers in Asia Pacific” by Airport Council International (ACI).

Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport also received the “Prima Utama” award from the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation for offering the best public service in the transportation sector in 2024.

“We thank all our service users and stakeholders for their trust and synergetic support. Our commitment is to proudly make this Airport the main gateway and a driving force for Bali’s economic growth via the tourism sector,” concluded Ahmad Syaugi.

The top three foreign tourist sources are Australia, India, and China.
