25 Official Holidays & Shared Days Off in RI in 2026

The Indonesian Government has designated 17 dates in 2026 as public holidays and an additional 8 days as shared collective holidays used to create extended holiday weekends. 

The number of official holidays is slightly less than  2025 when there were 17 public holidays and 10 collective shared holidays,

The holidays are stipulated in a joint decision issued by the Ministry of Religion, the Ministry of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform, and the Deputy Ministry of Manpower.

By extending normal official holidays with collective shared the government’s intention seeks to enhance opportunities for domestic tourism. 

The government strives to apportion the bonus collective shared holidays equitably among the major religious groups practiced in Indonesia. The shared holidays in 2026 provide extended holidays surrounding 5 Islamic holidays, 5 Christian Protestant and Catholic holidays, 1 Hindu holiday, 1 Buddhist holiday, amd 1 Khonghucu Holiday.
