As reported by Kompas.com, Bali Governor Wayan Koster is assuring world travelers that Bali remains safe to visit.
In a written statement, Governor Koster proclaimed that the citizens of the world do not need to worry about holidaying in Bali. “The main point is that Bali remains safe and conducive for happy holidays. International tourists do not need to worry about Bali. Please holiday in Bali,” said Governor Koster on Wednesday, 3 September 2025.
The Governor insists that the Island’s tourism will not be affected by the demonstrations staged at the DPRD Building in Central Denpasar on 30 August 2025. The Governor continues to monitor tourist arrivals, saying: “I am following the number of domestic and international arrivals; there is no current downturn underway.”
Responding to the Australian government’s issuance of a travel warning for Indonesia, Koster stated that everything is finalized and clear. The MICE industry is seeking a sense of security to commence their travel.
Both the Governor and the Head of Bali Tourism have stated that Bali remains safe and conducive for tourism. They insist that the Saturday, 30 August confrontation at the DPRD-Bali has not negatively impacted tourism.
According to Koster, there was no impact on tourism as a result of Saturday’s demonstration. Meanwhile, regarding the demonstrators who were detained and undergoing questioning, Wayan Koster admitted that he had discussed it with the Regional Police Chief. “If there are no violations of the law, they will be released immediately, and some have already been released. If there are violations, they will be processed legally,” he said.
Koster said there was no damage to facilities from the demonstrations in Bali, “Just graffiti, a little at the BPD Bank,” he explained.
