Bali Welcomes New Flight from PRC & South Korea.

Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport has welcomed new international flights from Sichuan, China, and South Korea: Sichuan Airlines from Mainland China and T’way Air from South Korea.

The general manager of Bali’s Airport, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, said the new flights represent a positive sign for the future of Bali tourism.  “We welcome the arrival of Sichuan Airlines and T’way Air, which are now operating to and from Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. The direct connection with Chengdu opens new opportunities for tourists from China and South Korea to enjoy Bali. At the same time, Ngurah Rai International Airport’s role is strengthened as a key hub for global tourist destinations,” he explained.

T’way Air flew its inaugural direct route between Cheongju (CJJ) and Denpasar (DPS) on Thursday, 25 September 2025. Flight TW157 arrived in Bali at 23:45 hours, returning to Cheongju the next day, departing at 1:09 hours, carrying 159 passengers. This new route operates twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, flying Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

On Friday, 26 September 2025, Sichuan Airlines flew its inaugural flight from Tianfu, Chengdu, to Denpasar, with Flight 3U3985. That flight arrived at 21:25 hours with 181 passengers and returned to Chengdu at 22:58 with 108 passengers on board. The Sichuan Airlines Flight is scheduled to operate daily.

Commenting on the new PRC-Bali flight, Shahab commented: “China has always been a significant contributor to the number of international tourist visits to Bali. Throughout 2025, through August, we recorded 393,825 Chinese foreign nationals, ranking third among sources of foreign visitors. We are confident that Bali will continue to attract an increasing number of Chinese tourists.”

With the two new routes to China and South Korea, Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport now serves 42 international destinations with 47 airlines. In total, Bali is now connected to 64 domestic and international routes flown by 53 airlines.
