Deadly Weapon Criminality Rears Its Ugly Head in Bali

Police in Bali are searching for two men who shot two Australians staying at Villa Casa Santisya 1, Gang Maja in Munggu Village in the subdistrict of Mengwi, Badung Regency.

Witnesses reported that in the early hours of Saturday, 14 June 2025, one of the armed assailants being sought by police was heard complaining, “I can’t start my bike,” shouted as he tried to flee the shooting scene.

The armed shooters were reported to be wearing green and orange colored jackets. A forensic team from the Bali Police has recovered 17 shell casings at the scene that are undergoing further examination.

As reported by Kompas.com and RadarBali.com,  a spokesman from the Bali Provincial Police, Commissioner Ariasandy, said police suspect the two armed men undertaking the murderous attack were also Australians. Witnesses, who heard the shooters speak, report that the men spoke with Australian accents.

Gourdeas Jazmyn and her husband Zivan Radmanovic

A local witness, observing the shooting from an opening in their front gate, said one of the shooters wore a green jacket resembling an online transportation service provider, while the other assailant wore an orange jacket and a black helmet. One of the men, wearing a face mask to possibly shield his identity, was heard to speak with an Australian accent.

The armed attack left Zivan Radmanovic (33) dead, and another man, Sanar Ghanim (35), seriously wounded. The dead victim’s body has been taken to the Professor Ngoerah General Hospital to undergo an autopsy, while the wounded man is being warded at the BIMC Hospital in Kuta.

The wife of Radmanovic, a woman identified as Gourdeas Jazmyn (29), reportedly witnessed the fatal shooting of her husband after being suddenly awakened by his screams. The woman told police how she saw a man wearing an orange jacket and a black helmet approach her husband and fatally shoot him in the bathroom. At the same time, Jazmyn heard more shots and the breaking of glass in the adjacent room occupied by Sanar Ghanim.

Sanar Ghanim

Jazmyn waited for the shooters to leave the scene before venturing out to discover her dead husband, before attempting to assist the badly wounded Sanar Ghanim. Police say the fatally wounded Australian, Radmanovic, suffered bullet wounds to his right foot, and two shots to his left thorax, left shoulder, forehead, and nose.

Meanwhile, Daniela, the wife of Sanar Ghanim,  was awakened by the sound of gunfire to see a man wearing a green jacket, a dark helmet, and a face mask enter her room. She immediately fled the villa, screaming for help.

Police are holding evidence consisting of 17 shell casings, two unused bullets, and 55 bullet fragments.

Police are following various clues in their search for the two shooters. Police believe that the Bali shooting represented a continuation of criminal gang activity and conflict in Australia that traveled to Bali.

Separately, the Chief of Community Service (Kabid Humas) for the Bali Police. Commissioner Aria Sandy has confirmed that a combined team drawn from the Public Crime Directorate (Ditreskrimum), the Provincial Police Headquarters, Intelligence Officers, and working units (Satker) are working to help the Badung Regency Police to solve the case surrounding the shooting. Police remain committed to finding and arresting the two men involved in the shooting.
