Dengue Fever Cases in Gianyar Exceed 260, with Sukawati Reporting the Highest Number of Cases
The high rate of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in Bali’s Gianyar Regency represents a serious concern for local government officials. From January to April 2026, 260 DHF cases were recorded in the Gianyar region, with no deaths.
According to Beritabali, official data reveal an increasing monthly trend. In January, 49 cases were recorded, followed by 55 in February, 72 in March, and 84 in April. Meanwhile, by mid-May, 23 cases of DHF had already been recorded.
The Sukawati Community Health Center (Puskesmas Sukawati I) reports that the community recorded the highest number of cases during January – mid-May 2026, totaling 62 cases. Kemenuh Village was the most affected area with 22 cases, followed by Sukawati Village with 15 cases.
Meanwhile, the Ubud I Community Health Center also recorded 44 cases, with 13 in the Ubud sub-district. and 12 cases in Petulu.
Blahbatuh I Community Health Center recorded a total of 25 cases, with Keramas Village leading with 7 and Bona Village with 6. Meanwhile, Gianyar recorded 19 cases, with the majority coming from Gianyar Village with 7 cases.
Ubud II Community Health Center recorded a total of 18 cases, with Singakerta Village recording 9 and Kedewatan Village 8. Payangan Community Health Center had the fewest cases, with only one recorded in Buahan Kaja Village.
The Head of the Gianyar Regency Health Office, Ni Nyoman Ariyuni, reminded the public not to underestimate the critical phase of dengue fever. According to her, many patients feel better when their fever subsides, but this is actually the most dangerous phase.
”In the critical phase, the risk of plasma leakage, decreased platelets, and bleeding can increase drastically. People should immediately seek medical attention if they experience dengue fever symptoms,” Ariyuni said on Thursday. 21 May 2026.
Symptoms to watch out for include sudden high fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, pain behind the eyes, nausea, vomiting, the appearance of red spots, severe abdominal pain, and persistent vomiting.
