A spectacular arrest, worthy of an action film involving a 35-year-old Frenchman, took place in North Kuta on Friday, 29 November 2025. Albert Antoine Quentin Strirer, a/k/a “Curtis,” is now in the custody of Bali police after his 12:30 pm arrest.
As reported by RadarBali.com, the arrest of the French tourist was personally led by the head of the Badung Bali Police precinct, AKBP M. Arif Batubara.
Eyewitness accounts and a video of the arrest showed the well-built Frenchman wearing a red T-shirt who police had been surveilling under suspicion that he was dealing cocaine and Liquid THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), being taken into custody by a group of uniformed and plain-clothed policemen. In addition to the Precinct Chief, undercover officers from the anti-narcotics division, wearing online driver uniform jackets, descended on Strirer in performing the arrest.
A dramatic police chase ensued through the Pantai Batu Bolong area, involving several officers in hot pursuit of the Frenchman, who was driving a large ADV 350 CC motorcycle. The panicked Frenchman was eventually subdued and placed under arrest in the parking area of Zai Cafe, Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong.
Precinct Chief Arif Batubara took a very hands-on role in the criminal’s apprehension by actually participating in the take-down that was completed without injury.

Police report that the amount and types of narcotics found in Strirer’s possession at the time of his arrest were consistent with a profile of an active drug dealer and in an amount exceeding an amount sufficient for personal consumption. As a result, police are investigating whether the man now in their custody has criminal associates involved in drug dealing.
A subsequent police raid on The Jineng Vali Villa in Cemagi, where Strirer is staying in Bali, discovered a large amount of cash totaling in the hundreds of millions of Rupiah. Police also found 147 Vape pipes, one hypodermic needle, five handphones, three laptops, and a Samurai sword.
The Frenchman, now considered a drug dealer by police, will be charged with narcotics-related crimes carrying a maximum of 12 years in prison and fines of up to Rp. 8 billion.
