Garuda’s New Cargo Service Bali – Hong Kong

Garuda Cargo Uplift Bali to Hong Kong

PT Garuda Indonesia formally launched a new cargo route connecting Denpasar (Bali) and Hong Kong, commenced on Saturday, 07 November 2020.

As reported by Tempo.co, the new cargo flight is expected to boost Indonesian exports.

The CEO of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, commented on the new service, “This is one of the business opportunities that we will continue to strengthen and grow.”

On the inaugural cargo flight to Hong Kong, Garuda Indonesia uplifted 30 tons of cargo comprised of various export products, including fish and agricultural products.

Irfan reported that demands for air cargo continue to grow. He said he hopes that direct exports from Bali and surrounding areas would expand and become more competitive in fisheries, agriculture, and livestock products.

Currently, the new cargo service connecting Bali and Hong Kong will fly once weekly using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft with the ability to carry 30-40 tons of cargo on each flight. The flight departs Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport at 07:00 am, landing in Hong Kong at noon local time.

The new cargo service between Denpasar and Hong Kong is one in a series of new long-haul services commenced by Garuda Indonesia during the global pandemic. Earlier, new routes were initiated between Manado and Narita (Japan), and Makassar and Singapore.
