The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment and COVID Czar, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, told a press conference at the National Palace on Monday 03 January 2022: “It has been decided earlier that the 14-day quarantine will become ten days and the 10-day quarantine will become seven days.”
Before the latest announcement, the 14-day mandatory quarantine applied to international travelers, both foreign and domestic, landing in Indonesia from a country experiencing high infection rates for the Omicron variant. The 10-day quarantine was used for those arriving from countries not seen at particular risk to the Omicron virus.
International travelers must present proof of completion for two vaccinations and undergo PCR screening before boarding a flight to any Indonesian international airport.
