International Red Bull Cliff Diving Championship in Bali, May 20-23, 2026

As reported by the State News Agency Antara, Bali will host the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2026 from May 20-23, 2026. This is the first time Indonesia will host the prestigious international cliff-diving event.

In an official statement from Red Bull, the King Kahekili Trophy Competition will be held in Bali at two locations: Kroya Waterfall in Buleleng Regency and the T-Rex cliff at Kelingking Beach.

Organizers have selected Bali as the 2026 host for the diving event, citing the Island’s popularity as an international tourist destination, beautiful natural landscapes, and Bali’s rich cultural heritage.

International divers will perform extreme, daring acrobatic dives from very high cliffs.

Commenting on the May event, Rhiannan Iffland, who has won the world championship for seven consecutive years, said that Indonesia and the Island of Bali will offer competitors a unique experience unequalled by any previous international cliff diving championship. Adding: “In the past, Red Bull Cliff Diving has already brought competitors to a number of exotic ocean cliff locations. Indonesia not only has stunning panoramas, but also a culture that will enrich our experience,” said Iffland.

The Kroya Waterfall in Buleleng, Bali, will host Rounds 1 and 2 of the world-class extreme fiving event.

24 male and female champion divers from Australia, the United States, Canada, France, Romania, and Mexico are scheduled to compete in the Bali series.

In addition to Iffland, the Bali event will feature cliff diving legend Gary Hunt and the highest-scoring competitor in competition history, Constantin Popovici.

In the competition, male athletes will jump from 27 meters, while female athletes will jump from 21 meters. This height is approximately three times that of the Olympic diving event, with drop speeds reaching approximately 85 kilometers per hour.

In addition to operational support by local tourism officials, the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2026 will also involve members of the Indonesian Navy providing technical, operational, strategic, and security roles.

Klungkung Regency’s Deputy Regent Tjokorda Gde Surya Putra stated that this event will provide the necessary momentum for the development of nature-based sports tourism in Bali.
