License and Registration, Please. Traffic Enforcement in Bali

Operasi Patuh Agung – a 14-day traffic enforcement campaign conducted by the Badung Police Precinct in Bali managed to net 328 traffic violators through the 12th day of the two-week program, 221 of whom were foreign nationals.

As reported by Beritabali.com, most of the traffic violations were committed by Russian nationals in the areas of Canggu and Mengwi, and the regency of Badung.

The typical violations cited by police included not wearing helmets, driving vehicles that did not meet legal standards, and failing to carry the proper vehicle documents.

The Head of the Badung Police Traffic Unit, AKP I Wayan Sugianta, stated that this trend should be a matter of collective concern.

“The violations are obvious and significant in number. We urge all parties, including rental vehicle providers, to always remind people of the importance of obeying traffic rules,” he said on Friday, 25 July 2025, said Sugianta.

Compared to 2024, the number of traffic violations increased by 6 percent, from 748 cases in 2024 to 783 in 2025. However, the number of accidents has decreased by 19 percent, from 32 incidents to 26.

As preventive measures, the Badung Police continue to intensify their efforts through patrols in dense traffic areas, installing billboards, and driver education via social media.
