Profits Take Off at Indonesian Airports

Angkasa Pura I Recording Record Profits Driven By Strong Performance by Bali Airport

Profits recorded by PT Angkasa Pura I (PAP1) – the operator of major airports across Indonesia including Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport, increased 15.83% to Rp. 933,5 billion (US$81.2 million) through the end of the third quarter of 2013.

Profits achieved during the same period in 2012 totaled Rp. 805.9 billion.

Bisnis.com reports that the Corporate Secretary of PAP1, Farid Indra Nugraha, said that income figures covering the first three-quarters of 2013 increased 1.19% hitting  Rp. 2.49 trillion (US$216.5 million).

PAP1 is targeting to generate an income of Rp. 3.5 trillion (US$304.3 million).

“The increase in income by Angkasa Pura I is driven by profits from Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport totaling Rp. 642,2 billion, Surabaya Juanda Airport Rp. 291,8 billion, and Balikpapan’s Sepinggan Airport Rp. 74.3 billion. Continuing. Sultan Hasanuddin in Makassar has contributed Rp. 55.3 billion and Yogyakarta’s Adi Sucipto Rp. 49.9 billion,” said Nugraha on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.

In terms of traffic, PAP1 has handled 52 million passengers through the end of the third quarter, an increase of 10.16% over the 47.9 million passengers handled the first three-quarters of 1012.

The number of flights handed by PAP1 also increased by 8.9% with 511,000 flight movements through the end of September. That number is expected to hit 622,000 flights by the end of 2013.
