The State News Agency Antara reports that Bali police have arrested an Australian who threatened violence against the staff of the Ziva Villa in North Kuta on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
Police took into custody an Australian named Forfus Igor.
Igor had reportedly booked the villa from July 26 to July 3, 2014.
When the Australian enquired regarding the check out time, he was told that the standard check out time was 12 noon, while Igor wished that time to be extended until 9 pm.
Unwilling to pay an additional charge for a late night check out, Igor apparently became irate and returned to the reception with a gun in order to threaten the staff.
Waving the gun menacingly, Igor shouted at the staff that he was a Russian soldier accompanying his commander who was staying at a nearby villa in North Kuta.
The North Kuta Bali police were summoned to the scene and took the Australian and his gun into custody.
Private citizens in Indonesia are not allowed to bear arms without a special license issued by the police.
