(8/27/2017) reports that preparations are in full swing for an important gathering of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Band (WB) who will hold their annual meeting in Bali, October 9-14, 2018.

Some 15,000 delegates representing 189 countries are expected to travel to Bali for the meeting. In addition, some 1,500 journalists from a number of media are expected to cover the meeting.

The October meeting has adopted the theme of using the IMF-WB 2018 annual meeting to advance national economies. And, at least in the case of Bali, this seems to be the case with several major infrastructure projects link for completion period to the October meeting.

The head of the Indonesian Tourism Association for Bali (GIPI-Bali), Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana, reports that the Central Government has committed Rp. 1 trillion for infrastructure improvement prior to the IMF-WB meeting.

Meanwhile, officials calculate Bali will earn an income of US$90 million in room revenues alone with 13,500 rooms expected to be booked by conference delegates.
