While Bastille Day is normally celebrated on July 14 year to commemorate the storming of the Bastille in 1789, this year's celebration of French national day will be held in Bali on Friday, July 16, 2010.

Open to both French Citizens and Francophiles of every national persuasion, the festivities begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010 in the garden of Sector adjacent to the golf course at the Grand Bali Beach Hotel. The organizers are promising a night to remember with a hot buffet, lucky draw and fireworks – all for only Rp. 150,000 per person (US$16.30).

Among the food and drink highlights and their respective sponsors, include:

• Welcome Drink – Hatten Wines and Lima Jarti Cargo

• Desserts - Carrefour

• Breads - Kayu Api Bali

• Fish Soup - Chez Raymond – Cuisine de Marseille

• Moules marinières - Gossip Fusion Food

• Delicatessens items - Bali Bel Catering

• Salade Niçoise - Pignou di Penyu

• Taboulé - Khaima Moroccan Restaurant and Lounge

• Barbecue and pig on a spit

• Cheeses - Indoguna Bali

• Beer - Newspapers Direct

• Fireworks - IFFCI

Their will also be a lucky draws with prizes worth more than Rp. 100 million (US$10,900) to be given away.

Invitations/advance registrations are required and can be obtained at the French Consular Agency in Sanur, French Alliance, Renon Bahiana, Seminyak Bali Coffee, Cafe Mocha Seminyak, Global Chiropractic and Go Gentle, Ubud.
