Organizer of Bali’s only multi-sport race has announced the race date for the 2013 edition of BIZNET Bali International Triathlon. The recipient of several awards, including ‘Best Destination Triathlon,’ the Bali event will return for the 7th consecutive year on Sunday, June 23, 2013.
First ran in 2007, the BIZNET Bali International Triathlon
has grown to become a major annual event for Bali and a fixture on the international sporting calendar.
“Since 2007, our event has extended its welcome mat to runners from around the world eager to experience a well-organized and safe race set amidst the natural splendor of Bali. Last year, during the sixth running of the race, we welcomed more than 900 athletes from some 29 countries to experience what has been dubbed ‘the triathlon for the soul.’ Today, due to the unfailing support of the Balinese community, the race has become a popular part of the international sporting calendar,” explained John “Jack” Daniels, co-founder of the race and president director of Bali Discovery Events.
Continuing as the title sponsor for the third consecutive year is BIZNET Networks -
a leading telecommunication, fiber optic Internet and multimedia provider in Indonesia. As in past years, Bali Intercontinental Resort, AYANA Resort and Spa, The Four Seasons Resort at Jimbaran Bay
and the more than 100 hotels and resorts that are members of the Bali Hotels Association also generously support this year’s race.
Andreas Kansil, race director for the BIZNET Bali International Triathlon
, said: “We’re expecting more racers than ever in 2013. In anticipation of that, we’re making some significant changes in the race route, particularly for the running legs that will now explore a new area of picturesque Jimbaran Bay. Back by popular demand in 2013 will be our Balinese bike blessing; the welcoming cocktail, the delicious high-carb race eve dinner; the ‘rock the race party’ on Sunday evening at the
AYANA Resort and Spa;
and the expansive race-central entertainment and transition area at the InterContinental Bali Resort."
