Kompas.com reports that Bali’s new Benoa-Nusa Dua Toll Way is now officially 100% complete and has satisfactory passed all structural and safety testing protocols.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will inaugurate the alternative way from Bali’s capital of Denpasar to Nusa Dua on September 12, 2013.
Reynaldi Hermansjah, the financial director of PT Jasa Marga, the company that owns and operates the new toll road, speaking at the planting of trees in the mangrove areas surrounding the toll road on Friday, September 9. 2013, said, “Our toll road is ready, both physically and in terms of equipment.”
While the official tariff to be charged on the road is a decision that rests finally with the Central Government, current plans are to charge toll rates of Rp. 10,000 for cars and Rp. 4,000 for motorcycles. A unique feature of Bali’s new toll road is separate roadways exclusively for the use of motorcycles.
PT Jasa Marga Bali was established to build and operate Bali’s first toll road on November 18, 2010 with share holdings by PT Jasa Marga, PT Pelindo III, PT Angkasa Pura I and PT Pengembang Pariwisata Bali.
The toll, built on a suspended highway over water, traverses 12.7 kilometers connection the port area of Benoa, the Ngurah Rai International Airport and Nusa Dua Area.
