More International Flights to Bali

The general manager of Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan, told the State News Agency Antara, that four international airlines have pending applications for commencing flights or supplementing their current flight schedules.

Xiamen Airlines will commence a new flight to Bali on 01 December 2023.

Three other airlines, Etihad Airways, Vistara, and IndiGo, will add flights in early 2024.

Speaking at the cornerstone ceremony for constructing a new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Bali’s airport on Wednesday, 22 November 2023. Handy commented on the rapid influx of new international flights to Bali, “Bali is the destination targeted for international travel; this is an extraordinary rate of momentum.”

Handy said that the new flights demonstrate that market demand for Bali remains strong. Moreover, some carriers already serving Bali are applying for permission to operate larger aircraft with greater passenger capacity.

Handy also confirmed that Emirates Airbus A380 is seeking permission to increase its current daily frequency of flights to Bali.

Currently, Bali has 36 airlines operating 30 international routes to Bali and many Indonesian airlines operating 13 domestic routes to the Island.

On average, Bali’s sole airport serves 65,000 domestic and international passengers traveling on 400 separate flight movements.
