A Palestinian, Mohamed Hamayda (40), was arrested by Indonesia’s Narcotic Enforcement Agency (BNNP-Bali) at a boarding house on Jalan Kesambi Indah Nomor 27 in North Kuta during the process of purchasing ecstasy and methamphetamines for onward distribution.
Quoted by detik.com, Tri Kuncoro, a chief investigator of the BNNP-Bali, confirmed the Palestinian’s arrest at a press conference on Wednesday, 9 September 2025. Kuncoro said evidence collected by police at the time of arrest confirmed the presence of narcotics.
Tri also confirmed the confiscation at the boarding house of 11.6 grams of cannabis, several ecstasy pills weighing 1.5 grams, and 0.27 grams of methamphetamines. The narcotics above were allegedly purchased for cash by Hamayda from an individual identified as “Big Mouse.” BNNP officials arrested Hamayda.
Hamayda has been charged under Section 119, paragraph 1 of the National Anti-Narcotics law, carrying a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
