The Indonesian National News Agency ANTARA and The Jakarta Globe report that two popular late-night entertainment venues, Delona Bar and N Co Living Bali, have been ordered closed by the Bali Provincial Police under suspicion that both establishments are heavily involved in the illicit drug trade.
Both nightspots have locked their entrances and are now sealed off with yellow “Do Not Cross” police lines.
According to a police spokesman, the Indonesian Police have sealed the two nightlife establishments in Bali over suspicions they were being used as hubs for drug distribution.
Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, who is the director of the narcotics division at the National Police, Delona, and N Co Living Bali, were shut down as part of an ongoing nationwide anti-narcotics operation.
“Officers from the narcotics directorate have taken action against suspected drug distribution activities at these nightlife venues,” said Eko, speaking from Jakarta. Authorities claim that the management of the two businesses may have been involved in facilitating the drug trade.
Police are withholding publishing the identities of those involved in the cases as investigations continue.
