Remembering a Dear Friend of Bali, Giorgio Domini, 1971-2025

Bali’s leading travel operator, PACTO Destination Management Company (DMC), shares the sad news of the death of Giorgio Domini, a travel industry leader in the Italian market, who passed away in Verona on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, at the age of 54.

Well-known and lovingly regarded among international travel professionals, Giorgio Domini’s debut as a travel professional dates back to 1995, when he established Fijitimes, a company catering to elite travelers. In keeping with its name, the company initially focused on Fiji, quickly expanding to other destinations in the Asia-Pacific region, including Bali and Indonesia. Now, at the close of its third decade, Fijitimes operates globally, ushering its VIP to guests beyond the Asia-Pacific to include the USA, Oceania, Central and South America, and Africa.

Describing his long history of creating dream travel for his elite clientele and how he met his future wife, Michela, Gorgi Domini once wrote: “I began visiting the South Pacific in 1995 with my first trip to Fiji and immediately fell in love with this remote and fascinating part of the world. After several trips, I met Michela, a fellow diving enthusiast and tireless traveler. From this meeting, we combined our passions to create FijiTime. We began traveling even more, constantly attending international trade fairs and sourcing suppliers abroad to ensure customer service and increasingly competitive rates. Today, we specialize in many destinations.”

In the course of a tireless schedule of global travel, Domini developed a deep affection for the Indonesian people and their culture, making time almost every year to introduce travelers to Java, Bali, and East Nusa Tenggara via his bespoke travel programs. Those privileged to work and travel with the Italian travel legend recall his “bubbling personality” and a man who was “larger than life,” acquiring friends and admirers wherever he journeyed.

Recalling the fellow Italian as a colleague and friend, the COO of PACTO DMC, Umberto Cadamuro, said: “Gorgio will forever be remembered in our hearts as part of the PACTO family. His unique sparkling personality and his passion for Bali will be sorely missed and never forgotten.”

A Rosary was recited before the funeral, followed by cremation, in Verona on Tuesday, 16 September 2025.

Giorgio Domini is survived by his wife, Michela Aldegheri, and their daughter, Giorgia.
