Bali Ocean Days 2026: Supporting Blue Clean Oceans and a Sustainable Future.

The 3rd Edition of Bali Ocean Days returns to Bali 30-31 January 2026, when government officials, scientists, social entrepreneurs, financial operations, and community leaders will again gather at the InterContinental Bali Resort in Jimbaran.

Bali Ocean Day’s 2026 event theme is “Navigating Solutions for a Regenerative Ocean Future,” a reaffirmation of the conference’s aspirational goal to actively promote ocean health, climate resilience, and the empowerment of coastal communities.

This 2026  theme, “Navigating Solutions for a Regenerative Ocean Future,” reaffirms the conference’s positioning as Indonesia’s leading international platform for promoting ocean health, climate resilience, and coastal community empowerment.

At the pre-event press conference held in Ubud, Bali, on Monday, 12 November 2025, Yoke Darmawan. The Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Sky Blue Days (SBS) Foundation explained that the Bali Ocean Days has become much more than a conference, and is now an annual forum with a firm commitment to concrete action on behalf of the oceans, reporting annually on the progress achieved over the preceding year.

“Located at the very heart of the Indonesian archipelago and the Coral Triangle, Bali embraces the important role of cultural heritage and is uniquely positioned as a guardian of the world’s oceans. The event, held at the InterContinental Bali Resort, Jimbaran, provides an inspiring setting for global leaders to collectively formulate real solutions securing the future of the world’s oceans, transforming concrete commitments into measurable actions,” Yoke stated.

Bali Ocean Days (BOD) brings together high-level speakers from government, international organizations, science, civil society, and forward-thinking businesses working on oceans, tourism, and sustainability. The audience is also carefully curated: policymakers, destination leaders, impact investors, NGOs, coastal community representatives, and industry executives who are in a position to decide and act. The objective of BOD is to turn ideas into concrete collaborations that protect marine ecosystems, reduce pollution, and elevate Indonesia’s sustainable marine tourism destinations on the global stage.

Indonesia’s Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, has been invited to serve as the keynote speaker on the opening day, followed by 24 speakers from diverse disciplines—marine science, policy, finance, tourism, and community leadership—who will inspire the audience and lead into collaboration and business-matching sessions with funding institutions.

Paul Tanjung Tan, chairman of the SBS Foundation Board of Trustees, said at the Ubud press conference: “This is a movement of accountability and innovation so that solutions for the ocean are someday realized through concrete action plans, becoming much more than mere promises.” Continuing, Paul spotlighted the crucial problems confronting ocean conservation, including microplastics contaminating the oceans and ocean life. Microplastics are consumed by fish, which are later eaten by the human population.

“The microplastic problem requires energy, funding, and strong efforts from all parties to clean the world’s oceans and minimize pollutants,” explained Paul Tanjung.

To this end, the SBS Foundation encourages all producers in the plastic-packaged food and beverage industry to channel their CSR funds toward marine plastic waste management.

Pascal Philippe, Secretary General of the SBS Foundation and Program Director of Bali Ocean Days, concluded the press conference by outlining the conference structure, keynote speakers, and selected exhibitors.

He also highlighted the collaborative spirit and broad international reach of this year’s event.
